House of the Moon is a grassroots & Indigenous-led holistic healing & restoration movement, based in Arizona, that is designed to end the Murdered & Missing Indigenous Women & Girls (MMIWG) tragedy; through the empowerment of Indigenous Women.
As a freelance designer for House of the Moon, I conceptualized, created, and designed a multitude of items ranging from promotional items, websites, social media content, marketing campaigns, fundraising & sponsorship packages, and much more.
With a focus on empowerment & self-defense for women, I regularly met with the Founder of the organization, Erin Mitchell, for further support. Keeping the audience in mind for these designs, I was able to immerse myself in different cultures & language. Understanding these differences between worlds significantly aided in the designs, as it pushed me further into vivid colors, textures, iconography, and images that were culturally appropriate for the audience.
After much research & ideation, I led the update of their organization's website; framed & launched their social media accounts, including a social media campaign titled #IAMHOM; designed a series of fundraising packages for corporate / individual / tribal services; created editable graduation & sponsorship certificates for those who have successfully completed the HOM Training program; designed original House of the Moon promotional items including active wear, bandanas, handouts, banners, etc; and organized & maintained all design files.
